The Fall 2021 Season

Our 2021 season is again underway! Our last program of the summer concluded on Sunday July 25, 2021 with Pt. Shounak Abhisheki, and now we are excited to announce the news for Fall 2021.

We have multiple events planned for the coming months including some of India’s finest artists live-streamed to your living room and some of Houston’s finest local artists. As in all of our seasons, we feature seasoned veterans who are legends in their own rights and the younger generation who give promise to this great tradition. This year’s live-streamed programs are presented in highest quality audio and video through Shadaj Baithak on YouTube live with our partners Shadaj, Inc. We are also in the works of planning digital concerts featuring our local artists and students in keeping with our mission in Houston. To gain access to all our events please consider membership to our organization. For the 2021 Season the IMS Board has unanimously voted to reduce the annual membership to $100 from the current $200 for the entire family for 2021 Season.

JOSHI SISTERS (Apoorva and Pallavi Joshi-Granddaughters of Late Pandit Gajananbua Joshi)

Originally scheduled on April 3, 2021 but canceled due to the pandemic, IMS is please to finally present these two sisters who were born in the family of legendary musicians. More about their program and how to buy tickets to the virtual performance here.

Omkar Dadarkar – Date TBA

Disciple of PT Ulhas Kashalkar and the nephew and shishya of the legendary vocalist Padmashree Manik Verma. He later he took training from Pt.Yashwantbua Joshi of Gwalior Gharana under the Guru-shishya Parampara scheme of Dadar-Matunga Cultural Centre, and he was selected as scholar in I.T.C. Sangeet Research Academy in 1999, he has undergone rigorous training under the tutelage of guru Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar.

Virtual Live Telecast from Houston on IMS YouTube Live

Time:  3 PM to 6.30 PM and free for all to watch. We are proud to present some of Houston’s veteran performers, gurus and senior students of Indian Classical Music in a live-streaming series.

Children’s Ghar Baithak: 

This is a special program for children of IMS Subscribers – a platform for kids under 18 years to perform in a formal setting. IMS started this tradition in mid 90’s and has become a very popular event for children who are training in classical music.  We regret to inform that we are unable to host this program in the Fall of 2021 as originally planned due to unavoidable circumstances beyond the control of IMS, but plan to reschedule in February/March 2022 .  

Reduced Membership Fees

We thank you for your continued support in this pandemic environment where many of our members have been severely affected with loss employment, health issues, etc. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who are affected.

We need you and we need your membership. IMS Board has unanimously voted to reduce the annual membership to $100 from the current $200 for the entire family for 2021 Season. Individual tickets will be priced at $20 per person.
