Apporva Joshi Gokhale and Pallavi Joshi – Vocal Recital

The Joshi Sisters, Apoorva Joshi Gokhale and Pallavi Joshi, are the granddaughters and disciples of PT Gajananabua Joshi.

They are the rising stars of the younger generation. They will be accompanied by Sanjay Deshpande on tabla and Leeladhar Chakradeo on harmonium.

Together they will present a combination morning and afternoon ragas.

Short Bio of the artists:


Born in the family of legendary musicians Joshi Sisters received their training under their grandfather – the late Gayanacharya Pandit Gajananbuwa Joshi who was trained in three gharanas: Gwalior, Agra and and Jaipur. Her great grandfather Pandit Antubua Joshi was an eminent court musician in the erstwhile state of Aundh, Satara District.

Gajananbua’s gayaki is among the most technically complex and aesthetically refined. This is the gayaki that Apoorva and Pallavi trained in for more than three decades. Later, they received training under their uncle Pandit Madhukarrao Joshi as well as their father Shri Manohar Joshi, aunt Dr. Sucheta Bidekar and the renewed vocalist of the same traction, Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar Ji.
